Can I sue a rapper for using my name in a song making false and offensive accusations?

nopeCan I sue a rapper for using my name in a song making false and offensive accusations?
i don't think so unless it states your last name too. there are several ';steve's'; (just pretend okay ^^) out there and the rapper could be rapping about anyone with yourr name... it would make no sense to sue him because he mentions your first name in his song. if he were to call that person by a specific name (first and last names) and they happened to be yours, i think you would have a better chance of getting away with it. but i highly doubt anyone would add a last name to a song because they know the consequences.

If this is a stupid question then get a life if its not and its acutally a person that you met than yes if it is false and you dont like it or people pick on you for it then yes you can sue but that would be a waste of time in my opinion.
Nope he is an artist and has artistic rights and freedom of speech. If a normal person said it, it could be libel and slander but because he is an artist he can basically do wha he wants. This is why reporters, and movie directors can make up bs about people that is completely untrue
That would depend on whether or not the general public would know that it was YOU who he was rapping about. Then it is an invasion of privacy...but if more than one individual had the same name as you do and YOU were not specifically targeted, then no.
Only if he used your full name, I think, or has libelous or defamatory remarks about a person that can legally proven to be you.
Don't worry, Obama will get him.
