Sorry, but records showing your address versus your brother's address won't be good enough. how do they know that it wasn't really you who gave your real name, but a fake address?

You will need to present your argument to the judge. The judge will likely order a criminal investigation to establish if your brother provided false information. You realize, of course, that you will probably end up getting your brother arrested, right?

Good deal. They will likely check your signature against the signature on the ticket. They may also check the registration of the vehicle that was being driven. If everything points to your brother, then you're off the hook and your brother gets his turn in the hot seat.

My brother did that to me, by the way. He used my name so I ended up getting arrested for DUI, possession of marijuana, and driving without a license. I was in jail for 8 hours. Then just 3 court appearances and one fingerprint check later, I was in the clear and we all enjoyed a good laugh.Giving a false name?
I don't think so. How can you prove that you didn't just give them your brother's address by mistake or falsify the address to try to avoid paying the ticket?

My question is, how did the cop give your brother a ticket without actually verifying his name and address on his driver's license. He must not have had his license with him.

But the officer must have taken down the vehicle information. If the vehicle is not registered to you, and registered to your brother, that seems like a stronger case for claiming that your brother falsified his name. In which case, they would probably try to contact him and verify the story. If he gets caught in a deception, he would probably be in really big trouble.
You don't need to prove you live at another address. You just need to prove it was your loving brother. That kind of s**** happens all the time. Many of us poor souls have brothers like yours.
It would be best to consult a professional legal advisor, but I think that if you went to court and explained this to them just the way you did here they would believe you, because I do.
YES - get copies of all of your information togather.

Call the clerk of the court that you are supposed to go to. Explain the situation to them, they will tell you what to do. Do not wait until the last minute, you will most likely get this taken care of without having to appear in front of the Judge.
