Being charged with Obstruction of Justice for giving false name?

Kk i just got arrested today like 2 hours ago because some of the people i was with decided to break someones window. The cops showed and asked us if we knew who did it, obviously noone took the blame. They told all of us that we were going to all get Burglary under our records and some other bull charges. Well anyway when asked for my name and adress and all that, I lied and told them some bull name and address. So they charged me with Obstruction of Justice, and im trying to figure out whats the most that can happen, how much a fine will be, or if i already have a record will that take affect the judges decision when i go to court? Also im not being charged with the Burglary just the OOJ, in case you guys need to know, i have a Juvi record and an OTH discharge from the military.

I lied because i was kinda drunk and didnt want to be charged with the burglary because i damn sure didnt do it. So thats y i told them false info, i wasnt thinking at the time. It happened in Union, NJBeing charged with Obstruction of Justice for giving false name?
Sounds like you'll get what you deserve.Being charged with Obstruction of Justice for giving false name?
I have got the same charge, I told him my name was Bret fave, i got obstruction, spent two days in jail (it was a weekend) and went before a judge , he gave me a 400 dollar fine and that was it expensive but no jail time
I sure hope you get the max for being a liar nobody likes a liar.Sounds like you need professional help.
never lie to the police just because he was wrong doesn't mean you can lie to him

let the judge decide if he was wrong about burglary

then you don't have to worry about it
Probably just a fine.

But you're still an idiot.............
Likely no jail time, just a fine.

However, in my state if you'd run up against the wrong cop, its likely you would be facing felony identity theft charges. You give a BS name and act like a turd, and the cop runs it through every database and finds the same name then charges you with the felony, instead of the misd of false information/obstruction.
Responsibility for ones actions.

Sounds like it is time to start growing up.
