He went to Catholic schools, maybe.
He does answer tough questions. Shouldnt that question be ';Why can't Alec ';Domestic Abuser'; Baldwin ever answer a tough question without resorting to name calling and false tales?'; Yes Sean calls name but the people he uses his quick wit on deserve a good trouncing. Typical how a liberal acuses everyone of the very same things they are guilty of. I'm a conservitive but I only agree with 60% of what Sean says but he has just as much rights to call Richard Doofus Dreyfuss on his radio show a name as Madonna has of throwing grenades at a picture of the president in a music video.Freedom of speach works both ways never forget that, sir

every one that does not serve God as he expects it. The Bible shows what you need to know to identify the right religion.

The August 1, 2009 Watchtower Magazine has the theme ';How Can You Choose A Good Religion?';. It focuses on three mayor things True Religion promotes in it's believers according to the Bible. An excelent tool to auto evaluate anyone's believes. Ask local JW for a copy next time you see them.

If you would like to know more about this and other themes, next time Jehovah's Witness come to your door, ask them for a free Bible study at your convenience. Should Fox News Change their name to False News?

After all, they just concentrate on the past and over exaggerate on issues that are either no longer of concern to the American people or just smearing lies and unnecessary insults about Obama or DemocratsShould Fox News Change their name to False News?
I've tuned in now and again and I have to say that I rarely see any news on Fox at all. They should change their name to Fox Neocon Opinion Channel. Opinion is ten times more of what they broadcast than news.

Should Fox News Change their name to False News?
Republicans are using Fox to wipe people off the map and out of populations. Fox won't stop until the global corporations control all of American life and everything represented in the US Constitution. But first Fox must help eliminate the middle class.

When McCain defines the middle class as people worth $5 million, that means he is now wiping out all of the families worth from $70,000 up to $4,999,999.

The middle class were the ones who pay most taxes that support the nation. McCain's scheme is to eliminate ownership of businesses, homes and everything else by the middle class.

Be very afraid of Fox and McCain. They are handing middle class Americans over to global corporations who now control almost everything.

But he has to keep you smiling and keep the propagandists convincing you that everything will be just fine, until you are picking potatoes in fields owned by the globals.
Yes, they really should. It's such a shame that so many people watch. It's also a shame that they actually have a few shows I like.... But I do my best not to watch the Fox network. It's interesting that the Simpsons plays there, especially since they often make cracks at Fox and uneducated Americans....

For those who'd like an example, most people who watched Fox believed that Saddam Hussein was directly linked to Osama bin Laden. This was never true. And CNN is international news. If you want the truth about how the rest of the world views America and what is going on, watch that. Better yet, Reuters or the BBC. Unless you are too scared that something ';liberal'; is ';Commie.'; Guess you better stop drinking tap water, too, since it's fluoridated...
Not at all. Fox News is just like any other news channel. I watch some things on Fox, CNN, MSNBC, and PBS.

I wonder how many people who hate Fox ever tried watching it. When it's just the news being reported, just like CNN, MSNBC, etc, it's fairly unbiased. It's only shows such as Hannity, O'Reilly, etc that have a decidely right-wing slant to them, just as Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, etc are definitely left-wing biased. Nothing wrong with either of them if you happen to agree with their views.

What we need is a completely unbiased 24 hr news channel, without frothing at the mouth show hosts, that reports just the news. Let the viewer form their own opinion.
When you have journalists actively cheering either Senator Obama (Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann) or Senator McCain (Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity) you no longer have journalism and news; you have entertainment with perhaps some minor informational value.

There really is no more fair and balanced news media today, if there ever really was one in this country.
I don't suppose you have anything to back up your claims of Fox News' supposed ';smearing lies'; or ';unnecessary insults'; do you?

Just out of curiosity, have you ever actually watched Fox News or are you just forming an opinion based on what Fox's rival networks (CNN, MSNBC, etc.) and liberal bloggers say?
If you are looking for the truth you will never find it on Fox. Fox is not a creditable news source. To buy into Fox version of facts, every News organization in the world in corrupt accept them.
Here are some suggest names for Fox News:

    The Hate Channel

    Nuke non-Americans Channel

    Channel KKK

    White Pride Channel

    The Biased Channel
Sure, Fox is biased. They tend to focus on the right. CNN is just as bad, but they focus on the left. You seem to be overlooking CNN.
Seriously, specific examples of ';smearing lies'; and ';unnecessary insults'; would have gone a long way in adding some validity to your question.
Faux News...I cannot stand this network, especially that chick with the dark hair that usually works on the weekends, she is a real peice of work, she really hates blacks..
Yes. Or they should be renamed Faux news. They are not real news at all.
FOX is a 24/7 news entrainment network, just like CNN and whatever else is on the air. I don't watch any of them.
They should go ahead and just drop the ';news'; part too.
Fox is nothing but a propoganda machine
    yes,UNFAIR and UNBALANCED COMEDY NETWORK!

True of False? Yahweh was the name given to the jewish god, initially spelled without vowels.?

Not really. It is just ONE of the names of God. In fact, the first name for God used in the Torah is Elohim- the tetragamatton is only revealed much later.

As for vowels- no hebrew is actually written with the vowel points. They were added when Achad Ha'Am and the other earfly zionists were reintroducing hebrew as an everyday modern language and wanted to make it easier for people to learn by putting the vowels in. Even so, modern hebrew, unless aimed at a second language audience, is written without vowels. On the other hand, you find that many books of the ancient hebrew are now being written WITH vowels to make them easier to study! (My copy of Midrash Rabba is written like this). So, you could effectively say that the vowel points in hebrew are actually teaching guides since they are only used by those not familiar enough with the manguage to do without them.

As an example of the no usage of vowels in modern hebrew- it is easily seen on the official israeli government website:

http://www.israel.gov.il/firstgovTrue of False? Yahweh was the name given to the jewish god, initially spelled without vowels.?
trueTrue of False? Yahweh was the name given to the jewish god, initially spelled without vowels.?
All of Hebrew is written without vowels and without spaces.

The above sentence would be written this way.

    llfhbrwswrttnwthtvwls.

About 100 years after Christ, scribes starting adding vowel points to the hebrew.

In the Hebrew and the Greek bible of Jesus' day, God's name was continued to be used and pronounced.

    It was after Jesus' life that the divine name started to be pronounced as ';LORD';

    Wolfgang Feneberg comments in the Jesuit magazine Entschluss/Offen (April 1985): “He [Jesus] did not withhold his father’s name YHWH from us, but he entrusted us with it. It is otherwise inexplicable why the first petition of the Lord’s Prayer should read: ‘May your name be sanctified!’” Feneberg further notes that “in pre-Christian manuscripts for Greek-speaking Jews, God’s name was not paraphrased with kýrios [Lord], but was written in the tetragram form [YHWH] in Hebrew or archaic Hebrew characters. . . . We find recollections of the name in the writings of the Church Fathers;

Professor George Howard of the University of Georgia wrote: “Since the Tetragram [four Hebrew letters for the divine name] was still written in the copies of the Greek Bible which made up the Scriptures of the early church, it is reasonable to believe that the N[ew] T[estament] writers, when quoting from Scripture, preserved the Tetragram within the biblical text.”—Journal of Biblical Literature, March 1977, p. 77.

“In pre-Christian Greek [manuscripts] of the O[ld] T[estament], the divine name (yhwh) was not rendered by ‘kyrios’ [lord] as has often been thought. Usually the Tetragram was written out in Aramaic or in paleo-Hebrew letters. . . . At a later time, surrogates [substitutes] such as ‘theos’ [God] and ‘kyrios’ replaced the Tetragram . . . There is good reason to believe that a similar pattern evolved in the N[ew] T[estament], i.e. the divine name was originally written in the NT quotations of and allusions to the OT, but in the course of time it was replaced by surrogates.”—“New Testament Abstracts,” 3, 1977, p. 306.

The New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology (Volume 2, page 649) says: “One of the most fundamental and essential features of the biblical revelation is the fact that God is not without a name: he has a personal name, by which he can, and is to be, invoked.” Jesus certainly had that name in mind when he taught his followers to pray: “Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified.”—Matthew 6:9.

    .

    .
YHWH were the consonants, but the vowels are no longer known. Ancient Hebrew was written without vowels, so there's no written record of the name as originally pronounced. A Jewish superstition led to the discontinuation of using the name (Josephus makes mention of this in the first century), so the oral pronounciation was also lost, even though the consonants were preserved.

Yahweh is an ';educated guess'; and should be very close to the way the name was pronunced by God himself when he revealed the name to his Jewish servants. But it's still a ';guess';.
    True

YHWH -- there were no vowels in ancien t Hebrew. This is why the nameYHWH is known as the sacred tetragrammaton or the sacred four letter word.
    Maybe...

    a) ';Yahweh'; is the most widely accepted GUESS about how this name was pronounced. Most of the evidence comes from NAMES which include a form or part of the name, but not has the whole. (Common forms = Yah -- in all those ';-iah'; names [Isaiah, Jeremiah, Nehemiah, etc], and also an abbreviated form of the name used all by itself, e.g., Praise be to Yah!)

    b) ';initially spelled without vowels'; -- a bit misleading or confusing. In fact, ALL Hebrew words were spelled without vowels!! That's how their alphabet worked. It was only many centuries AFTER the Old Testament was written that scribes developed a method for marking in the vowels, as they understood them to be (by a system of dots written around the consonant text, called ';vowel points';).

But it IS true that a tradition developed at some point (perhaps shortly after the Babylonian Captivity in the 6th century BC) of not PRONOUNCING this name. Note, it seems fairly clear that BEFORE the Exile the name WAS pronounced.

Anyway, the tradition of not pronouncing the name --based, it seems, on the warning of the third commandment , ';Do not take the name of YHWH your God in vain'; -- meant using some sort of substitute wherever the name came up in writing. The most common substitute ended up being saying ';Adonai';, Hebrew for ';the Lord';.

(This practice was picked up by ancient Greek translations of the Bible and is also reflected in many places where the New Testament has ';Lord'; [Greek ';kyrios';]. It is continued in many translations. For example, many English Bibles indicates YHWH by writing ';LORD'; --using small capitals, to distinguish this from places where the Hebrew texts actually does say ';Adonai';.)

In fact, when scribes added vowel points they indicated that this is what one should say by adding the VOWELS for ';Adonai';. (The mistaken attempt by some Christians to pronounce these vowels with the consonants YHWH led to ';Yehowah'; or ';Jehovah';... which is really a NON-name.)
True - there were no vowels in Hebrew
True. The name of God was unpronounceable because God was seen to be unknowable.

    in dos the command is:

The do a ren (rename) ren file file2

    IN WINDOWS:

Select the file and do a CNTL + C simultaneously and then o to where you want to copy it to and select the location and do a CTRL + V to paste it. Then righ on the copied file and select rename. There are other ways as well. Start with this but if you have any questions right click on the source you are tying to copy (in windows and look at what pops up.
As far as I know, the copy command in itself will not change the file name unless you copy and paste into the exact same folder. If you do that, the pasted file will read ';Copy of ###';.

    Hope that helps.
You could copy a file and then paste as another file name.

Should false rape accusers be ';named and shamed';?

Should women who falsely claim rape have their pictures and names placed on websites and the like, just as sex offenders and ';deadbeat dads'; have their names and likenesses posted?Should false rape accusers be ';named and shamed';?
The FBI has determined that a significant number of rape claims are in fact false. The majority of course are not, and all claims should be investigated.

Should the false accuser be named? I suppose if the man's name was given, then this would be fair.

I definitely think the false accuser should be charged, fined, and sentenced to the same extent that the falsely accused man was. If he did 2 years before it was determined he was innocent, then she does 2 years.

Rape is a hideous crime, and anyone who accuses someone of committing rape as a means of getting revenge is very disturbed, and is also criminal.Should false rape accusers be ';named and shamed';?
my husband is on bail until 28/05/09 as his ex of 11 years,2 children together, and tattoo shops together has cried rape.we are going through hell because of these false allegations.she is now a dominatrix her new partner a transvetite,n police, social services cant see why we worried

Why only false rape accusers? Why not ALL people who falsely accuse others of a crime?

Anyway, I'm going to say no, on the basis that failing to get a conviction doesn't automatically mean the person is innocent. And if people automatically got ';named and shamed'; whenever the defense won, the result would be that you'd have a nation full of people who are afraid to press charges for anything. Rape in particular is extremely difficult to prove, so probably you'd end up punishing a lot of legitimate rape victims who just didn't have enough physical evidence to make their case. However, if it can be 100% PROVEN that an accusation is false (which would be equally difficult), then the person who made it should get punished in some way.
It makes more sense than naming and shaming men accused of rape who are found innocent. However it is probably better for everyone's identity to be kept confidential until proof of guilt is established. Of course if they ever make it a crime to make a false rape accusation, then false accusers should be named and also given a jail sentence because an accusation of rape can totally destroy a man's life. I notice that feminists spend a lot of time campaigning to close women's prisons and increasing convictions for rape, but spend no time discouraging false accusations.
False accusers should be MORE than simply named and shamed. They should be sentenced to the same amount of time the man would have done if he were found guilty of what she accused him of, and then put on a registry of false accusers which would be available to the publc.

These liars are just as dispicable as child molesters and should be treated as such.
    yes

they not only make life a living hell for those they falsely accuse, but they make actual rapes less believable

they should probably also be put on antipsychotics...you know someone that makes up that kind of stuff has serious mental probs

    EDIT:

emily...what are your your fat, ugly, i can only get a guy by sucking up sources?

    according to http://lawprofessors.typepad.com/crimpro鈥?/a>

    Several interesting articles on sexual assault. The first is by CrimProf Michelle J. Anderson of Villanova, one of the legal academy's most perceptive and prolific scholars in this area. Her latest work The Legacy of the Prompt Complaint Requirement, Corroboration Requirement, and Cautionary Instructions on Campus Sexual Assault proposes a number of reforms to make institututional discipline more efficient. (CrimProf blogged an expose of UVa's system). One startling point in the paper was that no reliable statistics exist on the frequency of false rape claims: ';As a scientific matter, the frequency of false rape complaints to police or other legal authorities remains unknown.'; (See pages 33-35). Professor Anderson's conclusion is noteworthy in light of the often repeated claim of advocates that this information is known definitively: ';false accusations account for only 2% of all reported sexual assaults. This is no higher than false reports for other crimes.';

btw..as you say the fbi says a good share of rapes are false...the cia tells me your father is also your brother
    Most assuredly they should. To accuse a man of rape literally ruins his life. Any woman who falsely accuses a guy of rape should certainly be ';named and shamed.';

The key word here being ';falsely accused.'; If the rape allegations are true then the perp should be castrated, end of discussion.
    i remember that college in which feminists put up posters of random, innocent male students saying ';potential rapist';

    perhaps someone should put up pics of random, innocent female students saying ';potential false rape accuser';

    the guilty ones certainly should be named and shamed (and imprisoned). far too many get off with it by pleading ';womyn mental issues';
Hell yeah. A falsely accused rapist is still viewed as a rapist in the eyes of SO many. It's a stigma that will follow the poor schmo for years.
Yes, according to feminist figures AT LEAST 50% of rape reports are false. So there needs to be ways found to stop these people using theses laws as a weapon.

Since there are only a few of the actual accuser that are making a false claim what would this action prove? Just because they are not believed does not make the claim false.
Yes they should be. They should also be sentenced to lengthy prison terms.
Yes.. They also deserve to be severely punish because they can ruin an innocent man life.
    Yes. They should be punished.
In these times of equal rights,it should be done .Please go ahead and do it.

In this way can the abbreviated syllables YHW [Yeho] and YH [Yo],

with which many proper names begin, be more satisfactorily explained

The following text is found in the first sentence of the article:JEHOVAH in William Smith's 1863 ';A Dictionary of the Bible';:

    ';JEHOVAH ( יְהֹוָה, usually with the vowel points of אֲדֹנָי ; but when the two occur together, the former is pointed יֱהֹוִה, that is with the vowels of אֱלֹהִים, as in Obad. i. 1, Hab. iii. 19:';

The two vocalizations of the Tetragrammaton shown in bold type above, were both critiqued by John Drusius in 1604 A.D., however as noted below, Davidson defends the vowel points of יְהֹוָה. [See also sub section 3.1 above.]

In Scott Jones Article:Jehovah under the heading ';Davidson on the Tetragrammaton';, Davidson explains why he believes that the fact that the Masoretes did not point יְהֹוָה with the precise same vowel points as are found in Adonay indicated that the vowel points of יְהֹוָה are the actual vowel points of God's name.

    • The vocalized Hebrew spelling ';Yahweh'; is found in no extant Hebrew text.

    • The central ';ou'; or ';o'; in some Greek transcriptions point to a pronunciation with a ';u'; or ';o'; vowel in the middle, i.e. ';Yehowa';.

However Greek, since it stopped using the digamma, when transcribing foreign words and names has had to write the ';w'; consonant sound as a vowel ';u'; or similar (or in later times as β, after the Greek pronunciation of β changed from ';b'; to ';v';).
God is the correct name for God because it is ';DOG'; spelled backwards. That's because a dogs' unconditional love for us is Gods' gift of a real life example of his love for us and it is the only animal god actually named himself, being a mirror of his own name to remind us.

This mostly forgotten fact is also proof that God speaks English, since this doesn't work in other languages. So only prayers in English are heard.
So God is now upset at people mispronouncing his name? He is a touchy one that Grinch.

Religion is Harmful, here we have normally rational people fighting over the right way to pronounce God.......
You are not Jewish and when I pray I ask God and Jesus. When I pray, I ask God and Jesus Christ.

What Jehovah's Witness is mess up on is making gentile act like Jew when it not. When they say they are the Jew, it is heresy. Jew used hebrew and Jehovah is hebrew after being translated to English language of course regardless of what was edited into Wikipedia.
Neiher are pronounceable in English exactly the way it was pronounced when the term was coined during the authorship of the Pentateuch, so what's the point?

    Why not call him Eloi? Remember ';Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?';
ALLAH is the real name since Arabic was the first spoken language on earth
What difference, really, whether you call ';Him'; Jehovah, G-D, Yahweh, Allah or Zeuss?

If glorifying ';Him'; is what you believe in, then wouldn't that be accomplished by what is in your heart and by how you act?

Why do people get so hung up on this stupid, petty stuff that they overlook what's really important?
All we say is use the name that is recognized in your language as the name of God.

Where I live, it is not Jehovah. It is Iyegova. When you say that, everyone knows whom you are referring to.

It is hypocritical to say that since Jehovah is not the way it was pronounced we should ot say it at all, when we say ';Jesus'; all the time, but that is NOT how it was pronounced.

Many people have a problem, not with the fact that Jehovah is the accepted pronunciation in English, but with the fact that the name is now so associated with Jehovah's Witnesses and that would be admitting that they have been right all along.

And I guess you can't have that, now can you?
No human today can be certain how it was originally pronounced in Hebrew. Why not? Biblical Hebrew was originally written with only consonants, no vowels. When the language was in everyday use, readers easily provided the proper vowels. In time, however, the Jews came to have the superstitious idea that it was wrong to say God’s personal name out loud, so they used substitute expressions. Centuries later, Jewish scholars developed a system of points by which to indicate which vowels to use when reading ancient Hebrew, but they put the vowels for the substitute expressions around the four consonants representing the divine name. Thus the original pronunciation of the divine name was lost.

Many scholars favor the spelling “Yahweh,” but it is uncertain and there is not agreement among them. On the other hand, “Jehovah” is the form of the name that is most readily recognized, because it has been used in English for centuries and preserves, equally with other forms, the four consonants of the Hebrew Tetragrammaton.

    J. B. Rotherham, in The Emphasised Bible, used the form Yahweh throughout the Hebrew Scriptures. However, later in his Studies in the Psalms he used the form “Jehovah.” He explained: “JEHOVAH—The employment of this English form of the Memorial name . . . in the present version of the Psalter does not arise from any misgiving as to the more correct pronunciation, as being Yahwéh; but solely from practical evidence personally selected of the desirability of keeping in touch with the public ear and eye in a matter of this kind, in which the principal thing is the easy recognition of the Divine name intended.”—(London, 1911), p. 29.

After discussing various pronunciations, German professor Gustav Friedrich Oehler concluded: “From this point onward I use the word Jehovah, because, as a matter of fact, this name has now become more naturalized in our vocabulary, and cannot be supplanted.”—Theologie des Alten Testaments, second edition (Stuttgart, 1882), p. 143.

Jesuit scholar Paul Joüon states: “In our translations, instead of the (hypothetical) form Yahweh, we have used the form Jéhovah . . . which is the conventional literary form used in French.”—Grammaire de l’hébreu biblique (Rome, 1923), footnote on p. 49.

Most names change to some extent when transferred from one language to another. Jesus was born a Jew, and his name in Hebrew was perhaps pronounced Ye·shu′a‛, but the inspired writers of the Christian Scriptures did not hesitate to use the Greek form of the name, I·e·sous′. In most other languages the pronunciation is slightly different, but we freely use the form that is common in our tongue. The same is true of other Bible names. How, then, can we show proper respect for the One to whom the most important name of all belongs? Would it be by never speaking or writing his name because we do not know exactly how it was originally pronounced? Or, rather, would it be by using the pronunciation and spelling that are common in our language, while speaking well of its Owner and conducting ourselves as his worshipers in a manner that honors him?
It doesn't glorify God at all. I would just call God father like Jesus did. No one knows that name, no one.
It's not the name you choose to call Him that matters. It's belief in His Son Jesus Christ.
The word Yahweh, or YHWH in Hebrew can be transliterated either YHWH, YHVH, JHWH or JHVH in English (since y and j have made interchangable in English translations of Hebrew words, although J is more accurate, and since w and v are effectively the same letter, a la German and Latin). So, any of those are valid (with Jehovah coming from JHVH)
    '; By combining the vowel signs of 'Adho.nay and 'Elo.him' with the four consonants of the Tetragrammaton the pronunciations Yeho.wah' and Yehowih' were formed. The first of these provided the basis for the Latinized form ';Jehova(h).'; The first recorded use of this form dates from the thirteenth century C.E. Raymundus Martini, a Spanish monk of the Dominican Order, used it in his book Pugeo Fidei of the year 1270. Hebrew scholars generally favor ';Yahweh'; as the most likely pronunciation.(6)';

    In Christ

    Fr. Joseph
In English it used to be common practice to substitute in ';J'; for the ';Y'; sound in non-latin alphabets.

    Thus Iesus became Jesus.

    Yehudah became Judah.

As recently as thirty years ago they would have transliterated the Russian name Yaroslav as Jaroslav...

This is exactly what happened with Jehovah - it is the anglicised spelling of the Hebrew word with the letters Yud-He-Vav-He which is most commonly transliterated as Yehovah or Yahweh if you wish.

You are right that this is the wrong pronounciation because no one knows how to pronounce this word except for the most learned Jewish ';mystics';. Historicaly, this word was never pronounced except by the High Priest in the Temple in Jerusalem in the innermost sanctum on particular days of the year.
How do you know ';God'; is the real name?
Does your faith rest on denigrating the faith of others? if so, then schisms have done thier duty, shifting the debate from whether or not a god exists, to ';Which god, which way'; is the right god
Any name will do for an imaginary being.
    In all love,

There are very select few that know ';the'; name of God as revealed to Abraham.

The spelling and enunciation of even the names of the prophets are not widely known now as they were in the time of either of the prophets.

Some who assumes that they have it ';right'; and that others do not, may only be eating the fruit of the tree.

Just look at how the name Jesus is spelled and pronounced throughout the world. None of the popular spellings in different languages or pronunciations are faithful to how it was during his lifetime. According to most scholars, it was spelled in an ancient form of Aramaic not used today. And the best they can tell his name was pronounced Yeshua.

For an interesting read on the subject of the “real” name of Jesus go to this web site:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yeshua_%28n…

If you think, glory, worship and salvation is found in correctly pronouncing a word, perhaps further prayer and study is in order.

But of course, perhaps not, as you may be the one who knows. If so, lead us!

    Seriously!

Otherwise be still and listen to the inner light of divine love. For my dear, love is the answer.

    Blessings and peace to all,

    All in all,

    B
Be careful girl, I just got one of my questions deleted today about this subject.

    But I asked a new.

Yes, they call their God with the wrong name. It would not be so funny if they did not insist that we need to call Him with the proper name. I am happy I can call my Lord as the Father, Jesus, or even Jehovah, and He knows when I am talking to Him.

Why is it that all the big name brand stores claim to have such great customer service? False advertising?

It seems like they only employ kids who don't care about their jobs and aren't properly trained, just to save money. It's one thing when you ask a kid for help with something and he doesn't seem to care, but I'm starting to notice that store owners are hiring these same kids as managers, leaving no one to ask for help.

I was at walgreens the other day and bought some walgreens brand aspiren. When I got home I noticed it was expired. I called the store to inform them of the problem. A couple of days later I went back to exchange it only to notice that all the walgreens aspiren was expired. I told the manager, who had to be in his early 20's. He said he'd look for some more that was newer. He returned only to tell me sorry and that he didn't have any that was good. I'm sure they're are people still going in there buying expired aspiren without noticing.

I know of a grocery store who only pays their managers $7 an hour. Only kids work, because its more than they can make elswere. Why is it that all the big name brand stores claim to have such great customer service? False advertising?

What GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME WITH THE NAVY i GOT ARRESTED for giving police a false name ... its a Misdemonor?

so wat will happen to .me ..

its my First offense .. im scheduled to leave in december.. so wat should i do .to try to get off this case.. My aunt told me when i go to court to take my recruiters .. I go to court on October also .. The police .. that arrested me also forgot to read me my rights ..so how that go also ..

THANKSWhat GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME WITH THE NAVY i GOT ARRESTED for giving police a false name ... its a Misdemonor?
You will now not be allowed to join the Navy with an arrest. This is because unless the case is dismissed, which is rare for providing false info to police you will receive at least probation. The military will not accept people on probation until they are off it, sometimes they allow unsupervised probation but you need a waiver. You didn't list what your MOS was going to be if it is anything that requires clearance like working around nuclear reactors or other classified things this will automatically disqualify you. You also said your not in the Navy, but when you go to MEPS and swear in and Join the delayed entry program you are in the Navy, you are also in violation of you contract that you signed by getting arrested and could face criminal action. Although that is highly unlikely and they may just drop you from DEP and bar you from enlistment. What GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME WITH THE NAVY i GOT ARRESTED for giving police a false name ... its a Misdemonor?
Let your recruiter know immediately. If you don't, then you will also have lied on your background investigation questionaire and your application. The penalty for both (according to the Uniform Code of Military Justice) can be quite severe.

On the other hand, if you let your recruiter iknow now, there is no crime against the military, only the civil crime. I don't think that will be very serious as far as the Navy stands.
You only have to be read your rights after you are under arrest AND being questioned. If you gave the cop a different name to avoid criminal charges, that is a felony in same states. Call your recruiter and let them know about the situation.
you only get read your rights before being questioned. since your already in the navy (I assume) you may face an article 15 or letter of reprimand. some states it's a felony

What can you do if you get a CCJ on someone but find out they used a false name and have also moved house.?

I was owed 拢500 by a guy in Stevenage over 2 years ago. I took him to small claims and he had a CCJ slapped on him/against him.

Since then i have chased for the money like millions of others in the same predicament. I have little info on his life and money circumstances.

I tried and failed to get him in court to have order of info enforcement completed. I recently employed a tracing firm who have found out his real name is not the one all the court papers are in and on the CCJ and that he has moved abroad (for now) with a gfriend from Chech republic.

What can i do to sort CCJ name issue + the fact he is now aboard and not paid any money on his debt. Can i do anything to at least in convienience him if not get money back? What can you do if you get a CCJ on someone but find out they used a false name and have also moved house.?

My g/f got caught stealing two candies from store, and gave a false name, what will happen?

yeah the candy she stole were 50cent each it was two,and then got arrested, and gave a false name, it took 1000 dollars to bail her out and she has court, december 5, but the thing is she has a record for getting caught in school with marajuana, they gave her a brake all she needed to do is take drug test for three months, and they would drop charges and thats all, and she just needs two weeks till the last drug test... so what will happen to her, will she serve time for stealing, and she 17yrs of age..My g/f got caught stealing two candies from store, and gave a false name, what will happen?
she will face another charge of giving false information.

i know you care about her, but she is going to be more and more trouble when she gets older. if i were you, i would find someone more responsible. My g/f got caught stealing two candies from store, and gave a false name, what will happen?
It seems so stupid to me that she was trying to steal a dollar worth of candy and now she has to pay 1000 which could have bought her 2000 candy bars. With that being said if she gave the police a false name why would she even bother showing back up to court. They don't have her real name and I don't think they will worry about finding a candy thief but she should try to stay out of trouble because false names can't work forever.
She's going to the big house. Say bye bye
    Break up....
on the surface it seems highly doubtful that she'll serve time,

    maybe community service?

    youth program?

she's on a downward spiral, and 18 and the 'real world' will be a nice little reality check for her if she continues to act like it's all just a big game

Can a cop locate my bench warrant if I give them my false name?

    Hi,

Basically I have a warrant out for my arrest in NJ and I am living in los angeles. But I want to visit my family and friends and this trip will only be for Friday - Sunday so I literally have no time OR THE BAIL AMOUNT($4000) to get this issue taken care of the legal way.

I will make sure I dont carry my ID on me at all times, hence no driving for me.

So, in case im in a car that gets pulled over and a cop asks for information and I tell him that A) I live in Canada OR B) I just give him a false name and a birth date - will I be able to get out of this?

    Background info:

I got arrested for growing marijuana(only 1 plant) even though I have a medical marijuana card now for muscle damage from a car accident in Brooklyn

I do understand that this is not the right question to ask but for getting arrested for a non violent crime like that, Im sorry to say but I have no pity for the govt.. Atleast im happy that NJ will be passing med 420 laws which will not put other ppl in my situation.

THANKSCan a cop locate my bench warrant if I give them my false name?
I know you won't like my answer, but I can tell you what does happen.

If you use an identity within the USA, you will need a name, DOB and Social Security number. All the above will have to match. If you list a number that does not correspond to the name given, the age does not look correct, the address is not what you state, you will be arrested and they will run your fingerprints through NCIC to find out who you are.

If you try using a foreign identity, you will need a passport and supporting documentation. If you are carrying nothing on you at the time, the same results as above will occur.

I can understand your wanting to figure out some way of bending the law, but try to consider that law enforcement deals with this type of situation on a daily basis and anything you might think of trying has been tried millions of times before and we know what to look for to find out the truth.

I can't offer any usual suggestion other than staying out of the jurisdiction of the warrant. Anything else and you run the risk of arrest.

Best of luck and I hope this is useful to youCan a cop locate my bench warrant if I give them my false name?
Yes, give them a fake name and they will see it doesn't list to you or doesn't exist and you will automatically get arrested until they find out who you are. If you give a friends name and you don't match them or can't ask questions they ask you about his/her personal info, you are going to jail and adding on another charge for lying to the police.
If you tell them you don't live in the US, you better be able to show a passport, green card or you will be held until they ID you, then you will be arrested and all the other crap will be processed as new offenses. You really want to go to jail, don't you.
Dude, don't be so risky. You've already got a warrant out for your arrest...giving a false name and getting caught for that will just put you in a lot more trouble. If you're really insistent on going, I'd avoid cars in general.

p.s. If you need advice from a medical marijuana lawyer:

    http://www.marijuanamedicine.com
The police will confirm your identity. The false name will throw them off, but you can bet they're going to figure it out. And then, on top of your warrant, you have a Verbally Obstruct Officers charge to deal with as well. Moron.
umm...make sure you can verify ACTUAL information and not make it up...there ARE databases that police VERIFY information you give them...
Neither as the police will verify your identity and providing false information will only compound the situation.
DON'T BE A RETARD IF YOU GIVE HIM A FALSE NAME THEN YOUR LOOKING AT A FELONY FOR IMPERSONATION,AND STYFELLING A PIG INVESTIGATION. WELCOME TO THE SOCIALIST UNITED STATES OF TOTALITARIANISM
No, you're not going to be able to get out of it. The police have databases that include photos today. If they ask you for your information and you give them a false name they are going to be able to tell you are not being truthful about who you are. They can find out where you live, your birthdate, your photo, etc. by either looking it up in their system or calling the precinct in the area you live in. If things don't check out and you have no ID you are going to be arrested until they verify who you are. When they find out who you are, you're going to find yourself with more charges and more fines to pay. This is true whether you live in Canada or live in the states.

Most people don't figure out all the information and memorize it good enough to accurately give a false name. It is figured out more times than not.

  • How do debt collectors find your number even if you its under a false name?

My sister has so many debt collectors for sill things calling her darn house,She doesn't have a land line, its through her cable company but the accounts under a false name.she just changed cable company's and i don't even know her number off the top of my head yet,but collector's call 24/7.how is that possible? How do debt collectors find your number even if you its under a false name?
Debt collectors can be very resourceful.....They can contact friends/relatives/neighbors pretending to be someone else to get the phone number. They also have access to databases listing cell numbers.

The main way to stop the calls is to pay the bills in collections. Otherwise, she should get an unregistered prepaid cell phone account with Net10 or TracPhone. How do debt collectors find your number even if you its under a false name?
sure hope your cable company doesn't find out she is using a false name as

that a federal crime and the FBI could come knocking at her door...

and collectors cant call 24/7 they can only call from 9am to 8 or 9pm
Collectors do a skip trace. They use a variety of resources to track down debtors, including friends, relatives, employers, other creditors (one of the best). In this day of internet, it's even easier to track someone down.

Your sister could easily avoid all those collection calls. Just pay her bills. Maybe she should cancle that cable and use the money to pay off her creditors.
Maybe she should get caller ID so she doesn't have to answer the phone.

Or maybe find a friend who speaks Albanian or Vietnamese or some relatively obscure language, and have the friend answer the phone.

I occasionally get calls from fundraisers or politicians. When they start calling three times a day, I answer the phone but start talking to them in Russian.
they have access to many data bases. she should never acknowledge they have the right person. over time they will quit calling.
I used to work for a debt collection agency, and they had this thing called Skip-Trace. What it does is search for any name or address or phone number that is similar to the person that they are looking for, near where that person lives (yes, they can even get a neighbor's number and ask the neighbor do they know where you are)! I believe it is like a subscription or a service that the collection company has to pay for.

Can anyone tell me if giving a police officer a false name & getting caught a felony or misdemeanor??

That is determined by state law and may vary. I would expect it to be a misdemeanor in most states.

As far as the amount of the theft, the fact he stole beer will probably weigh greater than the fact he only stole $30. I doubt they will look favorably on that. Can anyone tell me if giving a police officer a false name %26amp; getting caught a felony or misdemeanor??
WHERE it happens will determine what type of charge this is.

Regardless of which charge it is, yes it's illegal, and yes you will get in trouble. The cops and judges think it's OK for them to lie, but it's a big no-no if normal people do it.Can anyone tell me if giving a police officer a false name %26amp; getting caught a felony or misdemeanor??
yes it is my friend got 3 and half years in jail for giving the police officer a false name its just depends on what kinda trouble Ur stopped with my buddy was driving with out a drivers license and insurance and a little bit of weed
In most states perjury in court or in sworn pleadings used in court would be a felony; other perjury (outside of court or unsworn answers, etc.) would be a misdemeanor.
misdemeanor.. Just give them your correct information because it will catch up to you in the long run its not worth the hassle.
my friend got charged with a misdemeanor.
You should include the state you reside in.
it could be a felony depends on how theyll charge you

How should I enter Japan when I used a false name before?

Hi! I am a Filipino and I am planning to marry a Japanese next year. The problem is I had worked in Japan five times ( 6 months each) using a false name. I did that thing because my manager ask me to do so due to my underage. The Japan Airport is now having this system of taking your finger prints and a face picture before entering japan which I did last year. My boyfriend and I are planning to get married next year with my real name. What bothers me is due to that new system they could recognize me having same records of fingerprints and photo but using a different name. What should I do? I love my boyfriend and I want to marry him and live with him for the rest of our lives. If only I could turn back times...How should I enter Japan when I used a false name before?
You'd better talk to an IMMIGRATION LAWYER in Japan (or have your Japanese boyfriend) talk to them.

Don't get legal advice from an online forum. How should I enter Japan when I used a false name before?
    I think Robyn is right.

After-all you used the false name to get your money, right?

I am sorry but you already are a criminal. I don't think you will be able to enter Japan again with your real name.

    Also I was wondering this...

You don't marry that Japanese for his money, do you?

Most Filipino marry Japanese for money, not for love, this is the reality.
Congratulations, you've just found out why they fingerprinted you in the first place. Get married in a third party country, like America, then enter Japan on a Japanese spouses Visa.
I would have to agree with the other poster.

That is the easiest way if you are worried

about them noticing the name differences

from when you worked in the country.

    Good luck to you.
Get married, change your name and then you will have a very good explanation of why your name is now different.
Since you love each other, just get your boyfriend to move to the Phillipines. Problem solved.
    so your an illegal

    GREAT

send your wife to me and I'll do everything
just enter with your own name and explain them the situation but it wont be that easy
Michinoku certainly has a point, but if I remember correctly they want your maiden name and birth and marriage certificates when you apply for a visa.

Frankly I don't think you stand a chance. But the main point is have you explained all this to your boyfriend? If not, he might not want to marry a criminal. Because when you break the immigration laws that's officially what you are. You might plead that it was the fault of your 'manager' but you agreed to do it and no-one pointed a gun to your head as you entered Japan each time, so it's unlikely they'd be stupid enough to believe you.

I'm afraid you'll probably be denied entry next time, even if you're married to a Japanese. No explanation will change it either.

Is it a misdemeanor or felony to give a false name during a traffic stop?

my sister used my other sisters name during a traffic stop. it was only for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. but, her license was suspended due to unpaid tolls from a friend borrowing her car. she had been notified of the suspension a few days earlier. at the time of the traffic stop, she was working as a nanny %26amp; had a child in the car. she thought she would only receive a warning, unless she used her real information %26amp; would be arrested %26amp; the child taken into protective custody until the parents could pick her up. the childs father is a police officer. i understand that was not a great decision, thats not what i want comments on. it was only a stop sign. we are debating whether to tell my sister who now has a traffic ticket to her name %26amp; possibly telling the truth or just paying it. will my sister be charged w/any serious crimes? Is it a misdemeanor or felony to give a false name during a traffic stop?
That fraud and I think it鈥檚 a felony. Is it a misdemeanor or felony to give a false name during a traffic stop?
Yes, it is a crime. It is always a bad idea to lie!
fine and points on the licenses. the sister will find out later on. so be a liar and cause an innocent person hardship. why to go, family member.
Giving false information to police is a misdemeanor, assuming someone else's identity is a FELONY
    Only if you get caught!
    lol. no.
    ....yes

An update of my last question, about me telling ma bf a false name over internet....?

ok so just a run through of wat hapened.... i met a boy on th internet, told him a false name coz i thort nothing wud *** of it, met up, fell in love, a year later told hi mth truth, he was ok, 2 years past he kept worryin then 2wks ago he broke it off saying it had to happen coz of the name thing.

OK update, 2day i went to see my ex to get a chain of mine he had, he said he didnt want to see me and he wuld post it but i wanted to see him, i duno mayb i thort if he saw me again he wud want me back??

anyway i turned up, he let me in, he was trying hard not 2 look at me and wasnt as 'talkative' as he had been on th phone.

anyway we didnt say much i really just wanted to cuddle him, so i did and somehting told me to kiss him, i did half expecting him to push me away but he kissed me back and we ended up 'doing stuff', then i got a cab home, he was still saying we cant be together!

pls someone tell me wat the hell is going on, does he want me or not, im so confused. An update of my last question, about me telling ma bf a false name over internet....?
you lied about your name....FOR A YEAR?!?

My gosh girl thats a bit nuts...An update of my last question, about me telling ma bf a false name over internet....?
end of the day he isusing u coz ur there get ur chain n leave him. He aint worth jack.
He's still attracted to you, he ain't strong enough to turn down s** when it's pushed at him, he doesn't want to be with you as a girlfriend anymore though. Seems pretty straightforward to me. He might be just using the name thing as a simpler excuse for the fact that he's not ready for commitment or just isn't that into you in the long-term, who knows? But lying about it for a year???! After you'd already met up and fell in love??? That's pretty weird. Hx
I think you did the best thing lying about your name when you first started talking to him, its safer but you should have told him the truth before a year. I think he just doesn't want a relationship and just wants a bit of fun so decide if you just want fun keep goin over his house and having fun but if you want a relationship then i think you should start getting over him
Lying about your name on the internet is not a terrible thing, might even be pretty sensible. But you should have told him as soon as you met in person.

I don't think the name thing is the reason he's split up with you, especially not after two years. He's probably using it as an excuse for something else and if you really want to know you'll have to get to the bottom of it!
He want your body and maybe he want you who knows.

Maybe he had another girl in the other room and wanted to make her jealous - may be there was a hidden camera and you just starred in a porn movie.

I would just leave him alone for a bit and if you get wind of anything untoward re the porn just take him to court.
nope - for some reason he doesn't trust you but he should have got over it!!!! - don't let him do 'stuff' with you and then walk away. He's obv not ready for you to settle down etc and is using the 'name' as an excuse - either take it slow or let go.

Will people no its my friend under a false name on bebo? good answer will get 10 points?

hey i was wondering my friend made fake bebo site under a diffrent name if she doesnt tell anyone its her will people ever no???????Will people no its my friend under a false name on bebo? good answer will get 10 points?
    Probably not.

It depends on how sneeky your friend is at pretending to be someone else. It'al probably come out sooner or later so it's better to tell people while she can before it gets worse...Will people no its my friend under a false name on bebo? good answer will get 10 points?
no.. aslong as she is careful and doesnt make a muck up!

Not the best thing to do tbh...
    Know. Know way.

  • Do you also feel that jesus is a false name?

Even if you break down the name if doesn't hold the meaning according to the bible.

i have an excerpt I'm asking you with an open mind to read for understanding http://www.yahweh.com/SAVIOR/search.htmDo you also feel that jesus is a false name?
Much ado about nothing. Navigating from one language to another is a very difficult thing to do.

Hebrew Ye' hushua became Greek Iesous which became English JesusDo you also feel that jesus is a false name?
His Hebrew name is Yeshua Ben Yosef which was transliterated by the Greeks as Iesous. This Greek name was then transliterated by the English into Jesus. Yeshua (Joshua) is a very common name in the Bible and the mid-East. The use of the transliterated name Jesus sets Him apart from the other Yeshuas (Joshuas) mentioned in the scriptures.
Just the koine greek version of Joshua/Yeshua. ';Iesou'; or some such, 'cos there's no J in Greek. And we have or own version. Just like ';Koln'; is a mouthful to look at what with the German spelling and tough pronunciation for us, so we use ';Cologne';.

They wrote the NT in Greek because only Jews, and indeed not all Jews, spoke Hebrew and also Aramaic was only spoken in Syria/Judaea/Babylon. Greek was very widely spoken in the Roman Empire, and also out in the east since Alexander's empire extended into Babylonia and Persia. Many Jews in the diaspora used a Greek translation of the Tanakh (=Old Testament) called the Septuagint. There were as many Jews outside Judaea as in it, living in Persia, Babylon, Asia Minor, Greek cities, Rome and so on.
Be really careful of teachers that say to use the Hebrew name for Jesus. The New Testament was written in Greek not Hebrew, so the Greeks pronounced Jesus as Ye-soo or something like that, which then changed to Jesus as the Bible was translated into Latin. It's silly to think that Jesus is not the right name for the Son of God. It's even sillier to think that we will go to hell if we didn't get baptized under the name Yeshua.

I think it's a trap, like Seventh Day Adventism was. Legalism instead of Grace. It's empty works, which is a sin.
In the OT God declared that His name was YHWH (Exodus 6:3; 20:7; see also 3:14). Scholars believe that ';YHWH,'; or ';Yahweh'; is the third person singular form of the ancient Hebrew verb, ';haya,'; meaning ';to be.'; The basic thrust of this verb describes the state of existence. As the third person form of haya, Yahweh literally means ';He is,'; or ';He exists.'; It is a description of who God is. He is the self-existing one.

    To understand the import of this we must understand the nature of Hebrew names. Hebrew names are not simply nominal devices used to identify one person from another as they are in the English language; they are actually sentences in themselves. It is similar to how the Indians named their children ';rising sun'; or ';running bear.'; These were not quite complete sentences, but they were descriptions (partial sentences). God's name, YHWH, is a full sentence. It just so happens to be the shortest sentence in any language--';I am.';

Has YHWH always been God's name? While it is possible, it is unlikely. God existed long before the Hebrew language, so it would seem unlikely that God has always had a Hebrew name. It must be remembered that God did not reveal a name to the Hebrew people that they were unfamiliar with; God revealed Himself to the Hebrew people using existing Hebrew vocabulary (haya) to express to His chosen people who ';He is'; (pun intended). It was a word/sentence they were familiar with because it already existed in their language before God declared it to be His name.

In Hebrew Jesus' name is spelled as ';Yeshua.'; The ';Ye'; in Yeshua is the abbreviated form of YHWH. ';Shua'; is from the Hebrew word for salvation, yasha. Jesus' name literally means ';YHWH is salvation.'; The name ';Jesus,'; then, actually contains the name ';YHWH'; in abbreviated form. While YHWH simply describes who God is, when it is combined with a verb it describes what God does. The name ';Jesus'; describes the fact that YHWH has become salvation. Who is Christ? He is YHWH, saving His people from their sins. If YHWH is not God's name, then Jesus' name becomes meaningless. To deny that God's name is YHWH is to ultimately deny the name of Jesus.

We should pick up on the fact that God is never referred to as ';Yeshua'; (Jesus) in the OT. He is always referred to as YHWH. If God's name has always been Jesus (as some claim) it would seem strange that He never referred to Himself as such, nor was He ever called that until the NT. It might be counter-argued that while God was called YHWH in the OT, He is never called by such in the NT.

But is God called YHWH in the NT? Yes, in its expanded form as ';Jesus,'; meaning ';YHWH is salvation.'; The name ';Jesus,'; found exclusively in the NT, is a continuation of the revealed name of God found throughout the OT. ';Jesus'; is not a new name. The name of Jesus encompasses the fullness of God's revelation of Himself to man--as Savior. The name ';Jesus'; is so important to us because it is an expanded form of the same divine name revealed in the OT. It is not a different name. It is only greater in that it more fully expresses who God is to us--Savior. Truly God's name is Jesus, because God's name is YHWH. We confess that God's name is YHWH every time we confess Him as Jesus.
Words have meaning. Some words not only describe some 'thing' ... they are also words that make suitable names for people. Heather, Rose, Jasmine, Robin, Tiger, etc., are examples of such words. The word 'Jesus' is such a word. Not only is it used to identity a specific 'human' individual ... it describes what a 'human being' is. It means 'God with us'... it means 'God IS us'. It also means... ‘ I ‘ God. “Je” means “I” and “Zeus” means... “God” of Gods.
I don't believe there was or will be a savior. In Judaism the messiah was supposed to be human and there is no concept of salvation. The idea was clearly derived from the Pagan sacrificial king myth and combined with Judaism later.

Well his name is SOMETHING in Aramaic, I think Jmmanuel, so of course the name Jesus sin't true, it's just the English version of his name. Or latin or something.
Yes. All religious names are fake. None of those people existed and to believe things that goat herders wrote 2000 years ago is just sheer ignorance.
There was no man named Jesus Christ. The ';Jesus'; in the bible was most likely very loosely based on a real man though.
Well since he does not exsist, he does not have a name

The bible is a fake book that means nothing

Get a life and know the truth, hope this helps

Being charged with Obstruction of Justice for giving false name?

Kk i just got arrested today like 2 hours ago because some of the people i was with decided to break someones window. The cops showed and asked us if we knew who did it, obviously noone took the blame. They told all of us that we were going to all get Burglary under our records and some other bull charges. Well anyway when asked for my name and adress and all that, I lied and told them some bull name and address. So they charged me with Obstruction of Justice, and im trying to figure out whats the most that can happen, how much a fine will be, or if i already have a record will that take affect the judges decision when i go to court? Also im not being charged with the Burglary just the OOJ, in case you guys need to know, i have a Juvi record and an OTH discharge from the military.

I lied because i was kinda drunk and didnt want to be charged with the burglary because i damn sure didnt do it. So thats y i told them false info, i wasnt thinking at the time. It happened in Union, NJBeing charged with Obstruction of Justice for giving false name?
Sounds like you'll get what you deserve.Being charged with Obstruction of Justice for giving false name?
I have got the same charge, I told him my name was Bret fave, i got obstruction, spent two days in jail (it was a weekend) and went before a judge , he gave me a 400 dollar fine and that was it expensive but no jail time
I sure hope you get the max for being a liar nobody likes a liar.Sounds like you need professional help.
never lie to the police just because he was wrong doesn't mean you can lie to him

let the judge decide if he was wrong about burglary

then you don't have to worry about it
    Probably just a fine.

    But you're still an idiot.............
Likely no jail time, just a fine.

However, in my state if you'd run up against the wrong cop, its likely you would be facing felony identity theft charges. You give a BS name and act like a turd, and the cop runs it through every database and finds the same name then charges you with the felony, instead of the misd of false information/obstruction.
    Responsibility for ones actions.

Sounds like it is time to start growing up.

What do you think about me using a false name in AA?

I got into AA from two MIPs. I am not an alcoholic. However, I still go from time to time because I have some friends in there and also I enjoy studying the program. I plan on being a Psychologist one day and studying the effectiveness of AA. I am also going to write a book on the program.

So will people be mad if they find out my name is fake? Why do you think I use a false name?

I will tell people after I get some answers! What do you think about me using a false name in AA?
    FYI for previous posters:

I have never been an alcoholic, but I am allowed to attend some AA meetings, especially in support of someone who does have a drinking problem. There are other meetings open only to AA members.

And, no, I don't think I am ';better'; than my alcoholic friends.......What do you think about me using a false name in AA?
I think (and I have studied psychology in college as a part of my degree) that you feel you do not belong with those people, your better than them. Maybe that is hard to see for yourself, it always is hard to look at ourself honestly, but it seems to be the case. As you find yourself connecting with them I am guessing you want to tell them the truth. They have become human to you and not just a stranger. You have realized that they are real people with real problems like everyone else. This is all my guess. This is a fascinating question and your future sounds very bright. I would say tell them you have used a fake name and tell them why. I doubt one person will be mad. Everyone in that room has done things much worse that what you have done and none of you should judge each other. Good luck.
Well, as a former member of AA, I agree with you about the potential harmful nature of the program. That's why I left. It really is a sick place to go.

However, if you want to find out what goes on, you don't need to use a fake name and pretend to be an alcoholic. That's completely unnecessary.

    According to the traditions of AA, ';the only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking';. And it's a one day at a time program. So if, on the day you go to a meeting, you desire to not drink that day, you're all set. Just go and say the following: ';Hi, I'm [first name], and I have a desire not to drink today.';

    It works--I've heard that a lot at closed meetings. People will just think you don't want to say the ';A'; word, which isn't that unusual. And if it comes your turn to talk, just say ';I'll pass for today.';

But don't BS. Take the high road.
    Two drunks meet in a bar, the first one asks ';Hey Joe! Hows it going?'; Joe holds his finger to his lip and say's '; SSSHHHH! I'm supposed to be anonymous!';

To answer your question people will be upset and feel that youv'e played them for fools, which you have. By pretending to be a person with a drinking problem you might be able to get people to open up to you in ways they might not if they knew you were studying them. The end justifys the means I guess.
I think the people who are there who are alcoholics will be upset if you are posing to be an alcoholic. But if you are there and haven't said you are, and that you are there with friends for support, then your real name doesn't matter I guess.
Just be true to yourself and use it as you AA name. because if anyone no you are there they may not be as truthful.

What legal issues will this false name problem cause?

Mother has been married many times. When my brother was 5 or 6 yr old she got with a man and put his name on my brothers birth cert as father, (it originally said 'father unstated'), which then changed his last name to this man's name. Mom didn't stay with this guy long, never married him. So my brother went back to using the same last name as the rest of us kids. He is married and has a couple kids. Problem is, he didn't remember any of this and mom never spoke up!!!! So his last name is not legally the name he was married with. So his wife and kids last names are not right. Is he still legally married? What legal issues will this false name problem cause?
If he is old enough to get married then he is old enough to legally change his last name. What legal issues will this false name problem cause?
    ';When my brother was 5 or 6 yr old she got with a man and put his name on my brothers birth cert as father, (it originally said 'father unstated'), which then changed his last name to this man's name.';

Just changing the fathers name on the birth certificate does not automatically change the childs last name. To have changed his last name would have required a court order.

In any event, it's not a big deal unless he chooses to make it so. He is legally married, and apparently he's had no problem with getting a drivers license, a Social Security card, opening a bank account, etc.

    Richard
of course he is legally married..

With the new one , he will just have to go to a court house in his town and change the name on all his paper work..

Am I in serious trouble? False name to an officer.?

I live in Minnesota. I got arrested 3 months ago for giving a false name (my best friends name) to an officer. Though I could have given her birthdate also, I gave my own. I am also charged with driving with a suspended license... though a month before the arrest I renewed my license and wasn't informed that it had been suspended. No letter in the mail. Nothing.

My court date is approaching and I know I will be charged with gross misdemeanor giving a false name to an officer. I have never been in trouble with the law and the most I've gotten is a speeding ticket. I'm worried about what my punishement will be. Will I get fines only, because it's my first offense... or do I have to await the doom that comes with a gross misdemeanor? Thoughts? I'm soooo nervous. I've never been in trouble like this before. Damn drunken stupidity :(Am I in serious trouble? False name to an officer.?
As a probation officer I have some experience with individuals charged with this type of offense. Under most circumstances, and I mean about 90% of these types of cases, with no prior criminal record, the offender will be placed on probation, have to pay a lot of fines and fees, do community service, and in certain situations may be ordered to go to jail. Usually the jail sentences are suspended, meaning you don't have to go to jail as long as you obey the Court.Am I in serious trouble? False name to an officer.?
    Well, here's an interesting question:

If you didn't know your license was suspended, why did you lie about your name?

Sounds like you are lucky you didn't also get a DWI...

Anyway, you will probably not go to jail, but this is not going to be cheap, either.
With friends like you, who needs an enemy? In Ohio, it's call ';Obstructing Official Business'; and yes, you would be fined and probably do jail time.

Is filing a police report with a false name make the report false?

my boyfriend went to jail for 2 domestic violences and 4 assulalts but the guy that called the police told them lies and gave them a false name. he stalked me for a long time saying things like ' if i was your man id be holding u tonite' he followed me around i called the law ALOT. and they still did nothing. does it make the case false. because its not true. OBESSION BIG TIME.Is filing a police report with a false name make the report false?
I don't really understand that situation post this again more clearly. If a report was made on a person with the wrong name then nothing can come of it, I would need more details to understand what went down though. Is filing a police report with a false name make the report false?
a false name when calling the police is ILLEGAL.. u need to call them with your real name.. tell them whats up and tell them you need HELP. If push comes to shove and the guy still wont back off.. call 911 and tell them someone is stalking you and now u fear for your life.
yes, and you are going to prison
    Yes its false information.
Any good lawyer will have the filer of the false report subpoenaed for the actual court case. When the defense can't produce him, that evidence will probably be tossed out. The police could also choose to file charges against him. However with the charges they filed against your boyfriend, it sounds like they have more evidence than your stalker. If you boyfriend is actually guilty of domestic violence against you, why would you want him to get off.
Under some laws, it's called ';Filing a False Instruments'; and that can lead to some kind of prison term for you.
Yeah and u will got to prison in the next week.
yes and it can be punishable but you'll have to prove it take him to court and let a judge decide if he is found guilty maybe they will punish him and he will leave you alone good luck

  • My husband gave a false name during a traffic stop, will this violate his misdemeanor probation?

He is on probation for a class B misdemeanor, criminal mischief charge. The county just picked up the 'false identity' thing and has issued a warrant for a class b misdemeanor. What is the most likely outcome of this, extension or revocation? He has never had a dirty UA or missed reporting but is a little behind on his payments. They have been willing to work with us on that so far but i'm afraid this new charge will change things.

Also we need to move to another county- in two days- due to financial reasons. How do we go about this without it being considered as absconding?

Help!!!My husband gave a false name during a traffic stop, will this violate his misdemeanor probation?
No offense - but this is all stuff that he should be asking his probation officer.

I am a probation officer. A ';Condition 1'; offense here in Texas is a new criminal arrest. A Condition 1 usually ends with a Motion to Revoke being filed.

If someone is on a felony probation and they commit a misdemeanor, quite often the probation isn't revoked. But, with him BEING on a misdemeanor probation, and him committing ANOTHER misdemeanor - more than likely, he will have a motion filed. If U are lucky - maybe they will do a ';combination deal'; and combine the punishment for the revocation AND the new offense.

It was also a SUPER, SUPER poor decision for someone on probation to make another pour decision like that. It's obvious that the ';2nd chance'; his 1st probation gave him didn't make any impact on him - as he is out committing new crimes.

As for moving - don't do it w/o permission beforehand. That will just be another violation on his motion to revoke! My husband gave a false name during a traffic stop, will this violate his misdemeanor probation?
In answer to your follow up question (it won't let me give a 2nd answer) - If the new offense happened BEFORE his current probation, then it will not affect his probation.

However, they may not give him a 2nd probation....

To get permission, he needs to call his officer 1st thing on Monday. Moving w/i the same county isn't a big deal. Moving out of the county is more complicated. And, moving out of state is very complicated. Y

Let me see if I get this straight... Your husband damaged someone elses property, but you feel because he repaid the money, that makes is OK? Thats called restitution. Of course he will be paying for the damage. Plus the criminal charges for destruction of another persons property. You're kidding me right? Then he parks his car illegally, in violation of our laws, basically saying...to hell with eceryone.... then fails to pay the tickets and loses his liscence? We are supposed to feel sorry for him??? This is EVERYONE elses fault but his, I assume, correct?

The whole point of probation is to give a person a break and a second chance to do things right and be a proper member of society. Your husband is obviously not worthy of that privilege. First, he is doing whatever he was doing to get stopped. Then he lies to the police. My guess is he also failed to tell his PO of his interaction with the Police in the first place ( and in turn his lie to them). Now he wants to move? I think he is moving alright...to wherever your state prison is.

He was given a break on the first charge and has deemed himself unworthy of that break, He will most likely be violated and sent to jail on the old charge while he awaits trial on the new one. You don't need help, you need a husband who can get his act together.

he has huge bills becuase of his own actions. He should have thanked his lucky stars for probation, yet you sound like it was cruel and unusual punishement.

The position you are in now is 100% his fualt and nobody elses. Nobody told him to park illegally. Nobody told him not to pay tickets. Nobody told him to destroy private property. Nobody told him to drive on a suspension. Nobody told him to commit a traffic offense and get pulled over. Nobody told him to LIE to the cops in direct violation of his probation.

Now you are going to move, against the rules, and when he gets caught, you are going to blame it on everyone else, I assume?
A second charge on top of being on probation for the same level offense? Sounds like jail time to me. If you leave the area without notifying probation officials, that's just asking for more grief. How about your husband start obeying the law for a change? Sorry to be so harsh, but there's a right way to live, and a wrong way.
Waaaaaa! My life his hard and I have problems. Lady, everyone one of us makes choices in our life. Your husband made his choice to vandalize property, plead guilty and accept probation, lie to a police officer, commit traffic violations, not pay the fines, etc, etc, etc.

I doubt anyone feels too bad for him. Sounds like he just has to straighten up. Take a bus or get a cab
He's going to jail, as well he should.

Enjoy your move. Be sure to let him know where you are so he can find you when he gets out.................
Thank god you still have internet access.
honey, we ALL have bills. Just because you and your husband have them doesn't make you any different.

You say he ';panicked'; and made ANOTHER bad choice.....sounds like he needs to find some maturity and responsibility and you need to quit making excuses for him. You are both adults. Act like it.
They could violate him and make him do a little time, or they could just add time to his probation.

Doing anything on probation or parole is very stupid.

The only reason I'd lie about my name while on probation would be because I didn't want the cop finding out I was searchable, then searching me because I knew I was rollin' dirty.

Ask the guy to clean up and fly straight.
The best advice that I can give you is to talk with your lawyer for the best advice and maybe he/or she can help help you.

The false identity thing will have to be worked out between your lawyer and the prosecutor(DA),I hope they decide to give him an extension, but you never know laws are different in each state.

    Good Luck
Most definately, when you are put on probation that is the court telling you we think you know better and are gonna give you a chance to do your time at home rather than in jail. As a condition of your probation it states to (have no negative contact with the police). Giving false Identity to a police officer is definately negative contact.
