Don鈥檛 all gods have names? Even false Gods have names, right?

NO!

There is no god but GOD.

If you were muslim you would know what I am talking about.Don鈥檛 all gods have names? Even false Gods have names, right?
Yes all gods have a name that corresponds to the principle that it embodies, but we must realize that that's all that they are is just symbols.....not to be worship ed or taking the place of the unknown God.Don鈥檛 all gods have names? Even false Gods have names, right?
Yes, but when it comes to the true God, Jehovah, most shy away from that name and just call him ';Lord'; or ';God.'; (Ps. 83:18)
Yes all gods have names although we as human beings may not be aware of them. Many cultures pray simply to ';The Great Spirit'; which is God in whatever form and by whatever name. Of course some simply pray to God or Goddess either for simplicity sake or because they do not know the name of the God or Goddess they wish to pray to and by generalizing they believe that the prayer/energy will reach the appropriate higher power.

I do not believe in ';false gods'; per say. The dictionary defines false as 'Contrary to fact or truth', 'Not genuine or real', 'Deliberately untrue'. Not any religion can prove their God to be fact or truth. A fact by definition must be proven scientifically. This simply is not the case with Gods, they are believed by faith alone. If false God means deliberately untrue God then how do we determine which Gods are those. Some would say that those are the Gods others have made up but you cannot be sure which those are. And even then if you give enough energy and faith to that energy you can create reality. Therefore Squat the goddess of parking spaces is born and hundreds of people pray ';Squat Squat find me a spot'; in the hopes that this goddes will provide a parking space. Maybe Squat is false, maybe simply misnamed, or maybe she is a part of the one energy that all gods are derived from which in my humble opinion is what the Great Spirit is.
all gods are false. some religions made it a capital offense to say a god's name. remember the story of Rumpelstiltskin, his power was taken away when she said his name.
I don't think anyone can answer this completely, but I would suspect that every god, including false ones, have names. All the ones I know of had names, but the problem is that none of us know of every single god. Who knows how many have been worshipped in every land, by every people, since time began? My opinion is that if you worship some entity, that entity is surely important enough to you [or your group] to have a name.
Some gods haven't formed yet. They're just a bit of ego and a lot of hunger floating around looking for someone to believe in them... or so I've heard.

I plagiarized that from ';Disc World'; but if you're going to be a plagiarist be a happy plagiarist.
yes like False gods.
One person's god is another's ';false god'; - usually if that other person is a xtian. The judeo-xtian god a state of being for a name - ';I Am that I Am.'; (YHVH).

Elohim is Plural - gods, yet somehow an exception was made, because the Hebrews didn't like gods other than their only one either.

As Hebrew has no vowels, and no ';J';, the pitiful attempt of ignorant xtians to fill in the vowels is a pathetic attempt to solve the pronunciation of the True name of God. Talk about 'taking the name of the Lord' in vain...

Most other gods have names, probably because it's more polite to use a name than just yell out ';Hey You - god of the 'True Vine', were's the wine?!'; Isn't it more convient to say Bacchus or ';Dionysus';? Oooh! there's that ';us'; or ';sus'; ending again. Anyone care to try the suffix, ';El';? (god)
