Is there a name for a false ending in classical music?

I've taken to listen to classical music recently and have noticed that often a song will go completely silent before starting a new tune. Is there a name for this false ending?

Thanks in advance! Is there a name for a false ending in classical music?
These ';false endings'; might actually be an ending to a particular movement in a piece. Some songs from the classical era can have many different movements, it's up to the composer.

Hoped that helped!
